Since the current District Attorney lost his bid for re-election, it appears he is now launching a last ditch effort to shut all legal MMJ providers down.

On June 20th, the Inland Empire Health and Wellness Center (The Farmer's Market), located at 647 N. Main Street, Riverside, was served with a civil lawsuit by the City of Riverside. On June 15th, the collective was served with a Temporary Restraining Order. On July 20th, representatives of the collective appeared before the court for the TRO hearing. The City Attorney requested a 30 day continuance. Seems everyone is awaiting the now infamous Anaheim decision.

The main thrust of this lawsuit highlights the fact that there is no business license/zoning ordinances that can be readily applied for by legal California MMJ collectives, whether in Riverside or San Bernardino County's. Additionally , this is a constitutional issue regarding MMJ patient's rights as well. as the efforts of cities and local municipalities, to permanently zone your collective of existence. Therefore, IEC has decided to inform all of our patients of this pending litigation and its immediate ramifications. The City of Riverside is asking that the collective be closed immediately.

In the event that the collective is closed, then we are back in the "delivery business." As you know, the majority of the polls represent support for the use of MMJ. We at IEC appreciate you and your continued support in our effort to provide safe and compassionate access to your medication.

Donations to our IEC legal defense fund are welcome.
